Save Water, Drink Champagne

Few things in life are nicer than a good glass of wine, a cupcake smothered in frosting, and a big comfy chair for snuggling.  And you know what the best part is?

You can have all of it.

As a working wife and mother, I spend lot of my time daydreaming about being able to stay home with my daughter, have the perfect spa-like house, and eat all the gourmet meals I can get my hands on.  While I have neither won the lottery nor received a windfall of money from an estranged relative, I have realized that I can eat delicious food and have a perfectly cozy home without having to be rich or make lots of sacrifices.

Our Festive House is all about trying to achieve those goals, and not being a superhero about it.  I’ll never eat 100% clean or paleo. I can’t build a sofa that looks like it’s from Restoration Hardware for $15. I certainly can’t afford even one pair of Louboutins.  But what I can do is take inspiration from those who share my tastes and style, and through smart planning and a sense of adventure, I can make my home and everything in it showcase who I am in any season.

I’d love to share my story with you, and show how you don’t have to be a size-0 paleo-diet yard sale-scrounging human being to get what you want and be happy.

Be you.  Be real.  Be festive.
